Yellow Tent in Milan Highlights Practical Community Help by Volunteer Ministers
MILAN, Italy — 22 January 2026 — Scientology’s Volunteer Ministers have brought their well-known Yellow Tent to Milan, creating a street-level point for practical help and one-to-one guidance, alongside simple “Tools for Life” techniques that can be applied to daily problems. More details are available here: Scientology Europe report.
Previously deployed in cities including New York, London, Paris, Berlin, Madrid, Rome and Naples, the Yellow Tent is designed to let residents meet trained volunteers directly and learn simple steps for communication breakdowns, workplace stress and conflict resolution, as well as support after personal emergencies.
Volunteer Ministers are community volunteers trained through 19 introductory “Tools for Life” courses covering communication, study and learning methods, interpersonal relations and problem-solving. The approach is personal and practical: identify the issue and offer a step that can be used immediately.
In Italy, Volunteer Ministers have supported communities during major emergencies including L’Aquila (2009) and Emilia-Romagna (2012), and have also assisted during recent floods in Marche (2022) and Romagna (2023), working alongside local institutions and civil protection actors to help clear homes and public spaces.
In Milan, activity expanded during the pandemic period with sanitisation initiatives and distribution of basic necessities. Organisers say volunteers then continued with community care work, including more than 160 consecutive Saturdays of clean-up and assistance, extending across all nine municipal areas of the city, while also contributing to solidarity efforts such as sending essential goods to Ukraine.
Ivan Arjona, Scientology’s representative to news eua the EU, OSCE, Council of Europe and the United Nations, said: “Across Europe, communities grow stronger when citizens are equipped to help each other in practical ways—calmly, respectfully and without prejudice. Their work reflects a civic principle: support starts with listening and providing tools that help people regain the ability to act and contribute.”
